Songs of the Cinema Premier
4,000 enthusiastic fans experienced the premiere of Imagination Entertainment’s newest theatrical production, Songs of the Cinema, at the Los Angeles Convention Center on August 11th. Songs of the Cinema brings the best of the silver screen to special event stages worldwide. The show captures the most memorable moments from the best movies of all time in an explosive stage production. The show features Nia Peeples in a starring role, performing live many of the acrobatic and dance scenes she is so popular for from her television shows such as Fame and Walker, Texas Ranger. The show is a terrific vehicle and celebration of Nia’s return to the stage after 25 years of film and television work!
The cast size ranges from 8 to 50 performers and can be a stand-alone 90 minute theatrical performance or can be masterfully integrated into other formats, including much shorter versions that are performed in theatrical vignettes for a corporate awards gala or a special event.

On Broadway raises the roof at the Ronald McDonald Awards of Excellence
Accompanied by a full 42-piece orchestra, Nia Peeples and Gregory Harrison led the cast of On Broadway in a most spectacular performance. The annual event was held in October at Chicago’s Donald E. Stephens Convention Center to a packed house. Imagination Entertainment was excited to have the opportunity to choreograph celebrities such as Nia and Gregory into the show. From his starring roles in Falcon Crest and Trapper John, MD to his recent role playing Billy Flynn on the national tour of Chicago, Gregory is a dynamic performer whose incredible vocal talents might surprise his television fans. The star-studded cast of On Broadway and the amazingly talented live orchestra headed by Rich Daniels worked flawlessly together to create a musical event of such grandeur that is rarely seen anymore. A fun piece of trivia that Nia’s fan web sites have caught hold of is the fact that Nia and Gregory starred together in Nia’s first movie ever on the big screen after she left her starring role in Fame. The movie North Shore has since become a classic cult movie in the surfer community. The audience who experienced this reunion of talents probably were not the same audience who frequently watch classic surf movies, however, the packed house of Chicago’s social elite were extremely enthusiastic and generous in their ovation of the terrific performances from the cast of On Broadway!
On Broadway and On Tour
Imagination Entertainment alumnus Stephanie J. Block, who recently starred in the First National Touring Company of Wicked as Elphaba, has got her face gracing every cab in Chicago as her new show The Pirate Queen opened to pre-Broadway audiences at the Cadillac Theater in Chi-town. The show will open on Broadway in April and the Chicago Sun Times has already pegged Stephanie to receive at least a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Actress in this lavish new musical. The Pirate Queen takes elements from the extraordinary life of Grace O'Malley: pirate, chieftain, lover and mother in 16th Century Ireland, and was written by the hit team who brought us Les Miserables and Miss Saigon, Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg.
15 cast members of On Broadway were privileged to see our friend Stephanie in a recent preview of The Pirate Queen while in Chicago on an event, and were amazed with the spectacle of this brand new production.
Starring in the leading role of Fabrizio Naccarelli in the touring production of Light in the Piazza is our own David Burnham. Besides appearing in Imagination Entertainment's On Broadway for the past ten years, David created the male lead role opposite Stephanie J. Block in the pre-Broadway workshops of the smash hit musical Wicked before going to Broadway in the Tony-Award Winning Light in the Piazza. Now the entire USA is falling in love with what people are saying is "one of the greatest voices on Broadway today." Check out when Light will be coming to your city by clicking on the link above.
