CiRCo Draws Huge Crowds at Harrah’s Casino
 In
a rare public performance in San Diego County, iL CiRCo
drew more than 9500 guests at Harrah’s Casino, over an eight-day
period in March. Imagination Entertainment introduced several elements
during the show, including a thrilling new group aerial performance
and a hilarious audience-interaction segment. This show travels

Entertainment’s iL CiRCo is a natural entertainment
choice for major sporting events. The show has traveled to the Sydney
and the Salt Lake Olympic games. When Superbowl returned to San
Diego in January, the troupe performed for the prestigious Commissioner’s
Ball. The guests included owners, sponsors, and other NFL VIPs --
a veritable “who’s who” of professional football.
Marine Corps Air Station Miramar provided a dramatic setting for
this event. iL CiRCo’s display of strength, athleticism
and grace in motion was the perfect choice for this crowd of football
aficionados.
Spectacular
Production for Tarbell
 Southern
California-based Tarbell Realty hosts an annual recognition event
for their associates, and each year manages to outdo the previous
show. In March, Imagination Entertainment teamed up with renowned
production designer Michael Curry (of Lion King and Salt
Lake Olympics Opening Ceremony fame) to produce a spectacular show
for Tarbell. Curry’s fantasy “creatures” swayed
and danced overhead, while iL CiRCo’s cast filled
the room with acrobats of every genre. Five separate stages and
extensive IMAG gave the audience the feeling of being completely
immersed in a swirl of performances happening simultaneously in
every corner of the huge ballroom. The fusion of iL CiRCo
with Michael’s over-sized puppet creations was truly magical.
Staff Profile: Maria Caligagan
Maria Caligagan wears many hats at IE (literally, sometimes)! As
a classically-trained ballerina and accomplished actress and dancer,
Maria’s eye for staging and production design lends a special
touch to our signature look. From costumes to choreography, Maria
plays a key role in the shows. With over 1000 costumes in the IE
wardrobe, it takes both artistry and patience to pick the perfect
combinations. And with 4 children under the age of 10 Maria has
perfected patience to a fine art! Maria and husband Tony both teach
dance at UCSD and are also popular salsa instructors with a loyal
following here in San Diego.
