July 2007 Newsletter

IE is proud to present the world's first completely modern, entirely electric, totally Bohemian, all singing, all dancing stage spectacular! Vive le Moulin Rouge is a celebration of truth, beauty, freedom, and above all things LOVE presented in a series of vignettes including “Welcome to the Moulin Rouge”, “Elephant Love Medley” and “The Can-Can.”
The high-energy show explodes into a colorful extravaganza of brilliant costumes, big sound and spectacular lighting effects as the stage and catwalks come to life with a diverse group of performers from the extravagantly dressed singers to the colorful Can-Can girls of the Moulin Rouge. The music is a blend of the film’s most popular high-energy songs from “Lady Marmalade”, "Because You Can Can-Can" to “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and “Rhythm of the Night”.
The final act opens with a medley of songs from the film’s 2001 smash hit that includes the remake of Patty Labelle’s “Lady Marmalade.” This number is an exhilarating production choreographed with an edgy and sensational style.
CEO Reveal/007-Style!
General Growth Properties
March 12, 2007
Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas
General Session Opening Segment
Unsuspecting attendees of General Growth Properties general session at the Mandalay Bay in March were thrilled by CEO John Bucksbaum’s unforgettable entrance. In keeping with a 007 action theme, IE produced an entrance that had Mr. Bucksbaum driving into the ballroom in a Cobra. Once on stage, he fought off ten “enemies” in a choreographed production that showcased martial arts skills taught to the CEO in the weeks leading up to the event. Needless to say, 007 John Bucksbaum was victorious as always in this thrilling fight scene as he showed the audience his explosive karate moves, and wiped out his attackers. In his final heroic display, he ascended into the air to kick the last of the 10 enemies to the ground.
IE has worked with this adventurous CEO to create memorable meeting openers on several occasions. Favorites include his performance as a star of a Broadway musical, and his schuss down a ski slope into a ballroom. Click here to see highlights of the production.

Visit our CastTUBE online web journal and get a behind-the-scenes look at the iL CiRCo Mexico tour. It features unique footage of opening night in Monterrey and the whirlwind media tour that led up to it. You’ll also witness IE’s behind-the-scenes magic as the cast and crew sets up for the show.
About CastTUBE: CastTUBE has been called a “cirque-themed reality show” where viewers get to meet the cast, hear their story, watch them rehearse and learn interesting insights to what it is like to be part of this touring production. Visitors to the site are invited to send messages to the cast and producers as well, which has been one of the most popular uses of the site. Comments are posted backstage nightly and as an iL CiRCo cast member Nelson Pivaral says, “Keep your comments coming! We hear you, we read your messages daily and you lift our spirits with your wonderful comments on our show and your continuous encouragement.”
International Theatrical Tours of Mexico
IE Theatrical Division
This summer Imagination Entertainment’s theatrical division has taken our two most popular shows on the road and entertained more than 30,000 audience members across Mexico with On Broadway and iL CiRCo. “We are very excited to bring our performances to Mexico” says Sam Trego, Imagination Entertainment’s President and Executive Producer. “Both shows have enormous international appeal, including gravity-defying acts and some of the most beloved music that has ever been written for the Broadway stage.”

“Spectacle, color and fantasy are some of the adjectives that can define the group,” says the Mural newspaper in a recent review of the Guadalajara leg of the eight city iL CiRCo tour. Certainly adding to the “colorful” and “spectacular” elements of the show is a brand new set designed for IE by Scott Holdredge and built by the San Diego Opera. The set brings the show to a whole new theatrical level, as audiences are transported directly into the mystical world of iL CiRCo. Audiences and critics agree that this show is an unquestionable hit. Read more audience raves at www.casttube.com.
IE Cast Members in America’s Got Talent Top 20!
If you’ve had your TV tuned to America’s Got Talent recently, chances are you’ve caught IE’s very own talented performers. Singer Cinda Ramseur and martial arts based performance team Sideswipe both made the cut after knocking the judge’s socks off at initial auditions in Los Angeles and Chicago.
Sideswipe went on to advance to the next round after an outstanding performance at the semifinals in Las Vegas. Piers said that their act was "on fire," and the judges agreed to advance them to the Top 20. Sideswipe’s unique talent blends traditional martial arts such as Karate and Tae Kwon Do, with gymnastics and acrobatics, to create an extreme, high-flying display of talent, strength and stamina unlike anything else.
Will they make it to the Top Ten? Tune in on Tuesday, July 31 to find out - and don’t forget to cast your vote.
IE Staff Profile: Mark Howell, Producer
Mark Howell, Producer, came to IE in February. Mark brings over fourteen years of theme park entertainment, television and special event experience to his position, and has worked for notable companies such as NBC Universal and The Walt Disney Company. We asked Mark a few questions:
What brought you to IE?
Actually, Sam Trego found me. I had recently made the move to San Diego from LA and was in the process of looking for an entertainment company that produces the quality of shows that I would like to be involved with. I received a call one afternoon from Sam and after meeting with him and his team, I knew it was a perfect fit.
Describe your accomplishments or projects:
Every show is an accomplishment in its own way. I have always been one for a challenge, so I love when a client calls and wants something completely custom and off the wall. Working closely with a creative team to achieve a unique and spectacular final production is very fulfilling.
What is your background, and how does it affect your job?
I started out as a performer for Disney in '93 and after several years with the company, I decided my passion really lies in creating and developing shows rather than performing. I think my performing and operations background gives me a unique perspective. It allows me to understand the various dynamics that are involved in creating a live show for a client, ranging from the creative and talent elements to the many complexities of the actual production.
